                                                                    Neurotoxins:

 

Botox and Xeomin can be injected into between the eyebrow, around the eyes, into the forehead region chin and jaw line.

 

How long do they last?

Individual results will vary but typically results last 3-4 months. With continued treatment can last 4-6 months.

 

When will I be able to see the results?

Minor changes can be noticed later that day. Most changes however will not be seen until around days 3-5, but maximum benefits will be seen approximately 2 weeks after injections.

 

Is it painful?

There is mild discomfort noted, and this is different for every individual. We try to make your experience as easy as possible. Topical creams can be used however this may lessen the effects of your neurotoxins.

 

How much product will I need?

The amount of product used depends on the region in which you are wanting to be treated. Most injections are between 20-50 units, depending on region being treated. Pricing is done per unit and is given to you prior to the beginning of treatment.

 

 

Will I still be able to make facial expressions?

Yes, you can still make facial expressions. This is largely due to the fact only the muscles be treated are affected.

 

Can I receive injections while I am pregnant?

It is not recommended to receive any neurotoxin injections while pregnant or breast feeding.

 

Side Effects:

Side effects can come from any treatment being completed. Generally, the side effects from neurotoxins are minimal and temporary. Including localized discomfort, inflammation, selling, tenderness, redness, bleeding and/or bruising, or infection.

 What are Dermal Fillers?

Is a product that provides volume and stimulate the natural production of collagen. Fillers are widely known for their ability to plump, hydrate and smooth skin.

 

Popular regions of injections: Lips, Cheeks, Smile

 

Lips: are the number 1 location for fillers. A numbing agent is applied to the lips prior to injection of product to make the client as comfortable as possible during this procedure. The fillers are then gently injected into the lip creating a fuller, plumper look. Additional benefits such as increased hydration, increased definition and volume are instantly noticed.

 

Face/cheeks: Smooth the area of concern, decrease wrinkles, increase hydration, added volume and definition.

 

Smile: Smooth those lines around nose and mouth known as marionette lines.

 

How much of the product will I need?

This is dependent of location, and end results will

 

How long do they last?

Individual results will vary.  However, typical results will be a minimum of 6 months depending on product and area. Some clients have found results lasting anywhere from 1 – 2 years.

 

When will I be able to see the results?

Immediate results are seen, you will notice fuller, lips, cheeks, and smoother skin with decreased wrinkles. The results will continue to improve as the products settles for up to 2 weeks. Their may be mild bruising or swelling for 3-5 days post injection.

 

Is it painful?

There is mild discomfort noted, and this is different for every individual. We try to make your experience as easy as possible. Topical creams can be used prior to your filler injection. The injection itself only takes a few minutes, so most treatments are completely tolerable.

 

Before your appointment:

Please read and understand the things listed, otherwise there is a chance we won’t be able to treat you.

24 hours before your appointment: avoid all alcohol, recommended to decrease chances of bruising

The Day of your appointment:

Eat a full nutritious meal, avoid caffeine, this will decrease changes of becoming dizzy or lightheaded during your treatment.

Embrace the no makeup, natural look:

Makeup, lotions, lip gloss, lipstick, sunscreen, and anything else you might put on your face must be removed prior to the are being treated. Their will be wipes available should you forget.

 

Things we need to know:

Any changes to your medical history.

New medical diagnosis, new or recent pregnancy, breastfeeding, new medications.

Some medications are not compatible with Hyaluronic Acid (filler) Treatments.

It may be necessary to reschedule your appointment.

Your overall health is our number one priority.

 

COLD SORES:

If you have a history of HSV-1(Common cold sores) and will be treating on or around the oral area, we recommend you take an antiviral medication starting 24-48 hours prior to your treatment and continue for 3-4 days after treatment.

 

 

After your treatment:

You will be able to return to your regular routine, with zero downtime. However, there are a few things to be aware of, and just a few activities to avoid the day of procedure.

You may notice some minor swelling and bruising to injection site for 3-5 days post injection.

First 24 hours post injection: stay cool, avoid activities that cause strain, increase body temperature such as energetic exercise or heavy lifting, in addition avoid high direct heat; including saunas, hot tubs, tanning beds, and steam rooms.

For the next 72 hours: give yourself a message. Gently message the area treated with products such as

Vaseline® or Aquaphor® several times a day to help soften and mold your products. Key Word is GENTLY, do not get aggressive.

Over the next 2 weeks: avoid facials, deep messages, aggressive exfoliating, forceful scrubbing to treated area.

 

 

Can I receive injections while I am pregnant?

What to do if you experience common side effects:

Swelling and discomfort: gently apply cool ice packs to affected area. Taking them on and off every 3 minutes for 1-2 hours (do not apply ice pack directly to the skin, or for greater than 5 minutes at a time.

Also, recommend sleeping on your back with head slightly elevated above your heart for few days.

 

Bruising: common occurrence after filler injections. Usually resolve on their own within 3-7 days, and you can gently apply makeup over them. Continue to avoid alcohol until all bruising resolved.

Itching: can occur when skin is cleansed with alcohol prep pads. Recommend taking an Over-the-Counter antihistamine as needed. Occasionally applying a hydrocortisone 1% cream can help until itching resolves.

Lumps and bumps: Occasionally when the filler product settles and swelling subsides, you may feel small lumps or bumps in the treated area. We recommend you apply slight pressure to the area for a few seconds and continue to gently message with Vaseline® or Aquaphor®.

Urgent Concerns: although dermal fillers are safe and effective treatment options, there is always risk. It is important to know the warning signs of possible complications such as any bruising or redness that begins to spread, any lightness on or adjacent to the injected area, unusual or continuous pain or intense pressure in the injected area, respiratory distress excessive swelling. Please call the clinic if you experience these symptoms you proceed to the nearest urgent care or emergency department.
